Leslie Spitz

Registered Psychologist

Hooves For Hope is proud to collaborate with Leslie Spitz, an experienced Registered Psychologist who provides professional psychological support for adolescents aged 16 and over, adults, and couples.

Leslie is known for her warm, compassionate, and practical approach. She creates a safe, respectful, and non-judgemental environment where clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported. Working collaboratively with each person, Leslie helps clients better understand the challenges they are facing, develop practical coping strategies, and create meaningful, lasting change.

One of Leslie’s specialist areas is couples counselling. She supports couples experiencing communication difficulties, conflict, trust concerns, parenting challenges, intimacy issues, separation, reconciliation, and major life transitions. Her balanced and evidence-based approach provides both partners with the opportunity to feel heard while developing healthier ways to communicate, resolve conflict, rebuild trust, and strengthen their emotional connection.

Leslie also provides individual psychological support for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, workplace stress, psychological injury, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, emotional regulation, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic attacks, and significant life changes.

Her professional experience includes supporting clients with Workers Compensation and SIRA claims, workplace psychological injuries, psychological assessments, clinical report writing, and complex presentations requiring collaborative care. This experience allows her to provide specialised psychological support for individuals navigating workplace or compensation-related matters.

Leslie tailors therapy to each client’s individual needs and draws from a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, and Solution-Focused Therapy.

At Hooves For Hope, we believe every person deserves access to support that reflects their individual needs and goals. Through our collaboration with Leslie, clients can access specialist psychological services alongside our counselling and capacity-building programs. This collaborative approach helps ensure each person receives comprehensive, person-centred care while remaining connected to the services best suited to their circumstances.
